For all of you that think Korea is cold. I DARE you to go to a place with a real winter and walk around like this. No … it wouldn’t happen. You do your fricken jacket up and you put on some god damn pants! You don’t have to look like a marshmallow or unstylish but.. I can guarantee you wouldn’t see this in my city unless you were just hopping from your car to a building or in between buildings downtown quickly. None of this walking around outside for ages with your jacket undone and then saying “it’s cold, it’s cold” under your breath. That. That would get you a smack in the head.
Sorry. I guess I’m just feeling particularly passionate about proper winter attire this morning. Although. I wouldn’t mind living somewhere I could just waltz about like this … Korea’s too windy for my liking.

I AGREE!  I’m from Wisconsin and it drives me insane to hear all the little Korean girls screaming 추워~~~~~ when they are wearing just tights or shorts and jackets meant more for fall weather. It’s not that cold here….people just don’t dress sensibly for the weather.

Yes, yes YES. This is the #1 thing about Korea I do not get. If it’s cold out, dress properly! Also, if it’s burning hot out, dress properly, too! 24 degrees Fahrenheit is not casually unbuttoned wool blazer weather.
Then again, my boyfriend has been walking around recently with his ubiquitous Korean black puffy coat unzipped and nothing protecting the skin under his low-cut v-neck t-shirt except a flimsy decorative scarf, and no gloves or hat or anything, and insists he is not cold. Sometimes, I think Koreans are impervious to extreme temperature. Jackets and pants in 80 degree weather, etc.

The funny thing is… the girl in that picture looks BUNDLED UP. I’ve seen so many girls in shorts with thin stocking underneath with a blazer as a coat. I don’t get it!! Shopping for a winter coat here was so difficult for me because most of the materials were so thin. They were all fall jackets in my book!
